Gate 61: Wonder

Gate 61 is the gate of Wonder. As a Virgo Rising, my brain is wired to "solve," to "fix," and to "structure.".. this is the opposite of wondering.. this is "solving" .. Gate 61 lives in the head center...this isn't a pressure cooker for answers, it’s a frequency for inspiration. The "Shadow" of this gate is the mental anxiety of trying to figure out the Why. The "Gift" is the ability to stand in the mystery and just... wonder.
I recently came back from Hawaii.. while there, the islands gave me a masterclass in this energy. Usually, I’m planning the next five steps or worrying about how we will afford what we are spending our money on.. during this trip, I leaned into the Delusional Confidence of being in the present. I stopped thinking about what we could afford to do and what we should do and instead let myself just lean into the joy of what we were doing and what options of joy were being presented to us. I realized that when we force the answer, we kill the magic....being present isn't just a "mindfulness tip"; it’s a radical act of faith. It’s the realization that all we have is what is right now and "right now" is actually pretty amazing if we stop trying to edit it.
How I am harnessing the Gate 61 Wonder Energy:
I am releasing the pressure to "figure it out."
I am articulating my dreams without needing to see the blueprint yet.
I am choosing to stay curious rather than stay "certain."
Next time you feel the pressure to find an answer, swap "I need to know" for "I wonder what will happen next." Watch how your nervous system shifts from anxiety to expansion.
